The Deerfield Demon's hosted 17 D2 and D3 teams Albany, Belleville, Cambridge, Columbus, Darlington, Green Lake/Princeton, Kewaskum, Lake Mills, Madison Tri-Op [ALCS/MCDS/SAA], Marshall, Monticello, Omro, Pardeeville, Randolph/Cambria-Friesland, Rio, Wayland Academy, and Wisconsin Heights in the annual Deerfield Classic.
Rio tied with Belleville/New Glarus for the 2017 Deerfield Classic Champiohsip. Each squad scored 82 points. Darlington, Columbus, Princeton-Green Lake, and Albany finished 3rd -6th as 18 girls teams scored points. A large overflow crowd watched athletes perform in great weather.
4x8 Relay Record Setting Champions From Deerfield
The Deerfield quartet [L-R] of Maren Jensen, Ashley Jacobs, Reece Matheson, and anchor Jessica Jacobs blazed to a time of 9:50.12 as they broke the old record of 9:58.90 set by Sugar River [Belleville/New Glarus] in 2008.
