Head Coach: James Boyd has been teaching and coaching track and field at De Pere for 31 years with the last 5 years as head boys and girls track and field coach. Boyd is also the head boys and girls cross country coach.

Conference: Fox River Classic

Conference Schools: Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay Southwest, Manitowoc Lincoln, Notre Dame Academy, Pulaski, Sheboygan North, and Sheboygan South.

Grace Matzke at the 2015 WIAA State Meet. She finished 4th in the 400m. She anchored the Redbird 4x4 to a Top 50 time of 3:55.26 at the 2016 WIAAState Meet.

Fabry [2016], Matzke [2015, 2016], and Mirkes [2015, 2016] were runners on the Redbird 4x4 which posted Top 50 All-Time athlete marks of 3:57.35 in 2015 and 3:55.26 in 2016.

John Opichka, Bill Swiekatowski, Ryan Fabry, and Don Penza have helped coach the vaulters at the club. Opichka's daughter Shaelyn and Fabry's daughter Olivia are Top 50 All-Time Athletes in the PV and Swiekatowski's daughter Kylie is the D1 PV Record Holder and a Top 50 All-Time Athlete in the PV.

Don Penza [left] is a school liason police officer at Ashwaubenon High School and has coached State Champion vault athletes at Ashwaubenon and De Pere.

Day 1 Of The 2017 Preseason

AP Vaulting is a pole vaulting club located in Green Bay, WI.

Vaulters from all over the state have jumped at the AP Vaulting Club. All levels are welcomed, beginner to collegiate.

Vaulters practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday nights in the off-season

Success Is No Accident

Above L-R: Austin Gokey who is on the UW-Green Bay Cross Country team [UW-GB does not have a track and field team] helps with the distance runners, Parker Hanson works with the sprinters and sprint relays, Matt Van Effen works with middle distance runners, throws coach Ross Helein, and strength and conditioning coach for De Pere High School Andy Krautkramer. Krautkramer led the Redbirds in their warmups prior to the athletes splitting up into skill groups.

Boyd is shown on the left with Don Penza who coaches the vaulters at De Pere. Athletes benefitted from a large staff of coaches when they split up into their skill groups.

The throw athletes worked on footwork and body and foot position for throws.
