Track fans probably remember last June when a new kid on the block was shoulder to shoulder with the defending 3200m D2 champion eventually Feyen finished second in 10:48.39. Also at the 2016 State Meet Feyen won a Bronze Medal in the 1600m race [5:04.97].

The 'new kid on the block' is now a sophomore at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School. Dana Feyen is #1 on the D2 Honor Roll 1600m [5:07.9 adjusted to 5:08.14 HHT] and 3200m [10:38.22] lists as of April 30. In fact she is #2 in the 1600m and #1 in the 3200m lists for the Week 7 All-Division performances.

At the G.E.T. Sporty Salsman Invite Friday, April 28, she set a school and meet record in the 3200m with the 10:38.22 clocking.

In some meets at G.E.T. the boys and girls are combined. That was the case in the 3200m run last Friday. Feyen finished 4 seconds behind the boys winner. The winner was her brother Doug, also a sophomore.

The photo on the left was taken by Sara Feyen of the 3200m race at the Sporty Salsman Invite showing Dana and Doug.
