Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, 2007: Veterans Memorial Stadium @ UW-La Crosse. Results.
The UW-La Crosse ROTC Honor Guard presented the flag each day of the meet. Watching the Honor Guard proceed to the middle of the field gave athletes and fans a chance to reflect on what a priviledge it is to participate in an event like the State Track and Field Meet. The silence in the stadium as the Honor Guard presented the colors displayed the respect that everyone had for those who have and those who will sacrifice much so that we can continue to enjoy our style of life. On Friday students from La Crosse Central High School [below] sang the National Anthem and on Saturday a similar group from La Crosse Logan sang our National Anthem.
