Some of the athletes who made their mark on the week 9 Honor Roll.
D2 1600m record holder Ashley Beutler from Sugar River [Belleville-New Glarus] moved up to the #2 spot on the HR 800m list with a 2:13.66 clocking at Monona Grove on May 10. Week nine saw an assault on the field events as Seymour sophomore Jessica Maroszek [D1] threw the shot 45' 01 and two high jumpers sophomore Katie Langmeier [D3] of Cuba City and junior Eva Greenwalt [D1] of Verona cleared 5' 08.
400m runners sophomore Gretchen Homan [D3] of Burlington Catholic Central, senior Stephanie Grant [D1] of Waukesha West and junior Cathryn Helmers [D1] of Holmen all moved up on the HR 400m list.
Gretchen Homan from Burlington Catholic Central Toppers finished third in the D3 400m at the 2007 State Meet. Stephanie Grant of the Waukesha West Wolverines finished 5th in the D1 400m dash at the 2007 State Meet. Holmen junior Cathryn Helmers qualified for the D1 400m at State in 2007 and is ranked 5th on the Week 9 400m HR list after posting a 58.5 [HHT] at the Sparta Invitational on May 8. Senior Kaya Senaya of Brown Deer who is the defending D2 100m and 200m champion returned to competition at the Borg Invitational held at Delavan Darien on May 9 by winning the 100m, 200m and LJ events. Hilary Forrest a senior from Stevens Point Area High School posted a 25.26 [FAT] in the 200m at Monona Grove on Saturday, May 10th to take over the lead in the HR 200m dash event. On Friday, May 9 at the Elkhorn Invitational ninth grader Chidera Obasih ran a 25.1 [HHT] in the 200m. This time was equaled by senior Jaleesa Trussel of Racine Case. Trussell won the 200m dash at the Doc Lund Invite held at Muskego on Friday, May 9.
Shelby Demos a junior at Janesville Parker qualified for the HH and HJ at the 2007 State Meet. She finished 4th in the D1 HJ event at La Crosse.
This season she jumped 5' 07 at the Tom Mueller Invite held at Oregon High School on Friday, May 9. She is ranked 5th on the HR HH list for week 9.

Junior distance runner Kiah Ehrke from Stoughton ran a 11:14.81 at the Tom Mueller Invite at Oregon on Friday, May 8. Ehrke was the fifth place finisher in the D1 3200m at the 2007 State Meet.
Brookfield Central senior Katie McCormack who was a state qualifier in the D1 1600m run at the 2007 State Meet moved into the #4 spot on the Week 9 HR 1600m list by winning the 1600m in 5:07.2 [HHT] at the Elkhorn Invitational on May 9.
D2 2007 Siver Medal winner in the discus Tiffany Medenwaldt a senior at Lakeside Lutheran. Sophomore Alexis Mikaelian from The Prairie school in Racine and junior Jamie Vandenberg from Niagara.
Tiffany Medenwaldt took over the D2-D3 HR discus lead with a throw of 138' 09 at the Borg Invitational on May 9. She is also on the HR list for the SP.
Versatile runner Alexis Mikaelian has made her mark on the HR 800m, 1600m and 3200m lists. She ran to a 5:10.6 [HHT] clocking at the Elkhorn Invitational on May 9.. She is the defending D3 champion in the 800m run.
Niagara's Jamie Vandenberg is the defending D3 400m champion from 2007. She also placed 5th in the 800m run. At the Marinette and Oconto Conference Meet held at Suring on May 9 she ran 58.88 [FAT] to win the conference 400m championship .
Ripon D2 hurdler junior Stephanie Zambrowicz had quite a week as she had times of 15.0 [HHT] in the HH's at the Berlin Invitational on May 5 and then posted a 46.9 [HHT] in the LH's at the Heather Johnson Memorial Invitational at Wisconsin Dells on May 9. She finished 4th in the HH at the 2007 State Meet.
Senior Shelby Schaal [above left] of Waterford raced to a 45.9 [HHT] clocking in the 300m LH event at the Elkhorn Invitational on May 9 to move up to #4 on the LH HR list. Schaal who qualified for the D1 300m HH at the 2007 State Meet is also in the top ten of the HR HH list.
