Germantown, host Homestead, Milwaukee King, Milwaukee North, Milwaukee Riverside University/Golda Meir, Milwaukee Samuel Morse. Marshall/Languages/Carmen Northwest, Milwaukee Washington/Collegiate Academy, Nicolet, and Whitefish Bay competed at Mequon's Homestead High School in a D1 Regional.

Coach Calvin Matthew's defending 2016 D1 Champions Milwaukee Rufus King won the meet with 168 points. The Generals were followed by Germantown, Nicolet, and host Homestead. Whitefish Bay's Camille Davre [800, 1600], Rufus King's Makayla Jackson [LJ, 100] and Kiersten Walker [200, 400] were double winners. Rufus King [4x1, 4x2] and Germantown [4x4, 4x8] also were double winners in the relay events. Jackson's long jump distance of 19' 03.50 was a Facility Record breaking the old record of 18' 07 set by Lisa Payne [Milwaukee Rufus King] in 1987.

The Homestead Regional top 4 finishers in each event will compete against the Watertown Regional top 4 event finishers at the Germantown Sectiona on Thursday, May 25l. At the sectional level the top 3 [top 4 in D2 and D3] athletes/teams in each event advance to the WIAA State Meet June 2-3 at UW- La Crosse.

Defending 2016 800m and 1600m Champion Camille Davre from Whitefish Bay is shown above in the 1600m race. Davre finished 1st in the 1600m [5:34.03], 1st in the 800m [2:21.65] and 3rd in the 3200m run. As of Week 10 she leads the All-Division Honor Roll in the 800m and 1600m races and is second in the 3200m run.
