Who Will Fill The Lanes For 2019?

A Look Back: D2 Returnees From The 2018 WIAA State Meet
WIAA 2018 D2 Champions Maddy Pietz [Wittenberg-Birnamwood] record holder in the 100m dash and two time champion in the 400m dash, Ashlyn Oren [Edgerton] in the HJ and record holder in the LJ, Dailey Albino [New Berlin West] in the PV, and Madison Rizer [Richland Center] in the TJ have graduated.
Aubrey Anderson [Lakeland Union junior] in the 800m run, Dana Feyen [Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau senior] in the 1600m and 3200m run events, Brooke Livingston [Adams-Friendship senior] in the 100m High Hurdles and 300m Low Hurdles, Eve Goldstein [Somerset junior] in the Shot Put and Discus events, and Tatum Straw [Waukesha Catholic Memorial senior] in the 200m dash will return to the defend the titles they won at the 2018 WIAA State Meet.

At the 2018 WIAA State meet Maddy Pietz posted a 11.98 to break the 100m record of 11.99 set by Milwaukee North's Tasha Allen in 2008. Edgerton's Ashlyn Oren established a new Long Jump record with a jump of 19' 01.25 that broke the old record of 18' 11 set by Heather Hyland from Nekoosa in 1993. In the 4x400m relay Wittenberg-Birnamwood broke the record they set in 2016 [3:56.66] with a time of 3:54.94. The 'WB' 4x4 record was set by the same four runners who ran on the 2016 record setting team. Those graduated seniors are Paige Norrbom, Kylie Linke, Emily Norrbom, and anchor Maddy Pietz.

Former D2 teams Aquinas, Cameron, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, Colby, Colfax, Cumberland, Durand, Grantsburg, Hope Christian School, Howards Grove, Kenosha St Joseph, Kenosha Christian Life, Ladysmith, Lancaster, Mondovi, Oconto, Oostburg, Osseo-Fairchild, Palmyra-Eagle, Randolph/Cambria Freisland, Random Lake, Roncalli, Stanley-Boyd, The Prairie School, Waterloo, and Winnebago Lutheran Academy are now in the D3 tournament series. Former D1 schools Antigo, Delavan Darien, Grafton, Mount Horeb, Notre Dame, Plymouth, Portage, Port Washington, Rhinelander, and Wisconsin Lutheran will now compete in the D2 tournament series. The 2019 WIAA tournament assignments can be found at: D1 | D2 | D3.

D2 2018 WISTCA All-State Athletes

To qualify for the Wisconsin Track Coaches Association All-State Team, athletes had to finish in the top six for all three divisions combined in the finals at the WIAA State Meet.
