Median dates of the Top 50 performances in each event and the number of Top 50 performances from the 1970's in each event are listed in the table below tabulated by Paul Tilleman. Thus half of the Top 50 All-Time performances were made before the listed median date and half came after that date. Note-The WIAA has had a girls State Meet since 1971.
The oldest performance on the list is Ellen Brewster's (Madison West) #6 time in the 800 of 2:10.68 at the 1975 AAU Nationals. The oldest #1 performances are Wendy Markham's (Cedarburg) 1980 6' 00" high jump and Sharon Dollins (Janesville Parker) 1980 20' 06 long jump.
The event with the fewest performances bumped off the lists since Paul Tilleman began tending them is the Shot Put. The event with the most is the Pole Vault but that is due mostly to the fact that it moves in whole inches.
The 1970's performances were: 100 Sharon Dollins [1979, Janesville Parker 12.04 h], 200 Pam Moore [Madison Memorial, 1977, 24.70 hy], 400 Patricia Duboux [Sauk Prairie 1978,56.31 hy], 400 Pam Moore [Madison Memorial, 1977, 55.32 hy], 1600 Jody Rittenhouse [Janesville Craig, 1978, 4:54.54 h], 4x100 Madison East [1977, 48.56 hy], 4x200 D.C.
